Custom Paintings for Coffee Packaging

I’m thrilled to share my collaboration with Café del General, where I created original paintings for their coffee bag designs. Café del General, a Honduran coffee producer with a four-generation family tradition, cultivates their beans in Ojojona, Francisco Morazán. This project was a wonderful experience, and I’m deeply grateful to have been a part of it.

These semi-abstract paintings, inspired by the Café del General coffee plantation, were designed to capture its essence through a blend of organic forms and vivid colors. My goal was to create designs that would transport viewers to the heart of the plantation, surrounding them with its natural beauty.

The paintings created for this project are acrylic on paper and were made in various sizes.

From Concept to Creation

My process began with sketching and experimenting – abstracting the organic forms of coffee beans and leaves.
A detailed exploration led to the development of a vibrant color palette that specifically reflects the natural color nuances of the coffee plantation and captures its richness.
An important characteristic of the Café del General palette, is the prominent use of yellow.
Texture – Design
To add depth to the artwork, I created individual stamps with carved textures of coffee beans, coffee cherries, and leaves.

Original paintings

I created artworks that are highly adaptable and scalable to ensure a cohesive visual brand identity across all coffee packaging sizes and roast levels.

The final Design

The packaging was designed for two types of roast: light and medium.  You can find ground and whole bean bags as well.
