Artist Statement

My art is my emotional diary. It is a space where chaos meets color, built in layers that shift and change just like I do.
I contemplate the world in terms of color and layers; a heightened awareness that influences my painting to achieve a blend of harmony and dynamism. This perspective allows me to transmit accumulated experiences and emotions, expressing a subjective reality inspired by nature.

In my work, color plays both a figurative and symbolic role, extending into the subjects and concepts of every painting I create. Taking everyday elements of the world around us such as our own skeleton, flowers, or the more mystical elements such as astral landscapes, I emphasize the power of color to shift a viewer’s perspective and evoke a deeper emotional response.

By taking a recognizable object and then transforming its background with my abstract vision, I portray what I perceive behind all the layers of reality and that which eyes can not perceive, beyond all the logical perception of vision.
It began when I started to alter and modify the layers of paint to an extent that I transformed them into planes. I divide the space of the painting into three areas: the background, the middle-ground and the foreground but I add an extra spatial plane on top of these dimensions to illustrate “the unknown.” In this way, I am able to blend figurative representation with layers of distortion and interpretation.

Due to the shifting layers of my life and work, I often expand my vision into series, triptychs, and polyptychs. This allows me to convey a personal reflection on the nature of beauty and the sublime, exploring how the concepts of mortality, loss, and recovery are all emotionally connected.

I enjoy expanding my practice through commissioned paintings and collaborative artistic projects.
