25 Jun Creating Artworks for my Wedding
I wanted to create custom artworks for the Save the Date and Invitations. Our wedding would take place in a winter garden, so we wanted a very natural, organic and floral decoration, with lots of greens, whites and a touch of gold. Our floral arrangements would be made with our favorite flowers, my husband’s are Jasmin and mine are Peonies.
Therefore my inspiration for this artworks was to merge our favorite flowers and used different shades of green and white to resemble a bouquet of flowers. These paintings will become the backgrounds for the wedding stationary.
The “Save the Date” would be sent digitally only. This painting is acrylic on paper and then I took a photo to add the text. I intentionally left the texture of the paper in the photo, because I wanted to show that it was a painting.
For our wedding invitations, I used the same concept as in the Save the Date. I only made some changes in some flowers and adjusted to make the painting square format. For me the most important was to incorporate translucent paper for the text. I really love this idea, it created a delicate layer for our invitations. To make these invitations even more special they were printed.
This painting title is “Love”, and is acrylic on canvas.
In addition to these two paintings, I designed a sticker for the coffee bags, which we handed out to our guests in the goodie bags.
