It truly excites me when people are curious about my art, especially when they ask about my inspirations and how my paintings take shape.
The questions I hear most often are: “What inspires you?” and “How do you create your paintings?”
In the next entries I will explain more about my Artist Statement and the painting process. I hope you find it enjoyable and perhaps even helpful for your own artistic journey!
The inspiration
One of the first things you might notice about my art is that I don’t stick to one specific style. This is because I’m fascinated by different artistic movements and love trying new painting techniques. This freedom lets me explore many different subjects and ideas, with each series of paintings having its own unique concept.
However, even with all this variety, there’s one thing that ties all my work together: the harmony, energy, and strong impact of color.
My paintings are really a reflection of my feelings, what I’ve experienced, and how I see the world. I’ve always been someone who observes things closely. This helps me see and understand things that might not be obvious, making me more aware of everything around me. Paying attention to small details and finding new ways to look at things is important to me. Because of this, nature and its beautiful landscapes are my biggest inspiration.
The conceptualization
For the past few years, I’ve followed a consistent process: I begin with a “real” object, something tangible from the world around us. Then, I transform its background with my abstract vision, creating an “unreal” space.
My artistic curiosity lies in exploring this unknown realm and finding ways to bring it to life on canvas. The “real” object serves as a tangible anchor, connecting the painting to our shared reality. It’s a visual representation of matter. However, as the painting develops, the imaginary space I create takes on a life of its own, blurring the lines between the real and the imagined.
To unify the composition, I rely heavily on color, using it to create balance and harmony. The significance of these colors can vary from painting to painting. Sometimes, they reflect the colors I observe in the real world. Other times, they become a conduit for the accumulation of my experiences and emotions, allowing me to express an abstract reality that words can’t capture.
Ultimately, through my art, I aim to highlight the powerful influence of color on human perception and how it can even transform our perspectives on fundamental concepts like life and death.
My creative process sometimes involves navigating two separate painting series at the same time. It’s tough but creatively rewarding. The contrasting ideas push my boundaries, leading to new insights and inspiration for what comes next.
These paintings really highlight the contrast in concepts and color palettes when working on multiple series.
In my next entry, I’ll be taking you further behind the scenes to explain my creative process.
